Live Outside the Lines #7

This is why pulling in to a spot from the spot behind it is a bad idea. You will almost always not pull up far enough - like this guy! Unless someone in a Smartcar comes behind, he might as well have just parked smack in the middle of the two spots.

I witnessed this happen outside a Whataburger in San Angelo. We went for late night num-nums and two guys pulled up right in front, ya know, in the "compact stalls"? I guess this is compact for Texas, considering there isn't a trailer attached. I asked the cops in the restaurant what they thought about this (In Texas, cops are staffed at all establishments that are open past midnight), and they didn't seem to mind. Maybe I worked in Pleasanton for too long, but seriously, you're taking up the whole driving aisle behind you.

Sometimes there is no excuse. I wish I could defend this one...

This one is fun. Just outside our grocery store, there are several handicap stalls with adjacent hash marks. Initially, I really thought that the hashed spots were Texas handicap stalls because so many people just pulled up to park there. Turns out they aren't. They are just the buffer areas so the handicap stalls have more room, and I can attest that this one didn't have his handicap placard displayed.
